Project 12 (p12.au) is a free link shortener run by AST Digital in Australia. This page says what we keep and why. Questions? Email contact me

What we keep

• When you sign in with Google: your name, your email address and your Google account ID. We never see your Google password.
• The links you make: the full web address, the short code, the date, and how many times the short link was used.
• The IP address of the connection that made each link. We use it to stop abuse, such as spam and scam links.
• One cookie called "p12". It keeps you signed in for up to 30 days. If you do not sign in, it only remembers that you have made your free link.
• If you make a free link without signing in, we keep nothing about you except the IP address above. That link stops working after 12 hours.

What we do not keep

We do not save who clicks your short links. We only count the clicks. We do not run ads or analytics on this site.

How we use it

• Your name: to say hello.
• Your email and Google ID: to know which links are yours.
• Your links and counts: to send people to the right page and to show you your list.

We use your Google details for nothing else. We do not send marketing emails.

Who can see it

Only you can see your list of links. The site owner can see all links, the IP address that made each one, and the email of the person who made it, so bad links can be removed. We may block a site, an email address or an IP address that is used to make bad links.

A short link is public. Anyone who has it can use it. Do not shorten links to private or secret pages.

Other companies

• Google runs the sign in. Google's own privacy policy applies to it.
• Hostinger is our web host. It stores our data on its servers and keeps normal server logs, such as IP addresses, for security.

We do not sell or share your details. We may share them only if the law says we must.

How long we keep it

Until you delete it. You can delete any link on the My links page. It stops working at once. To delete your account (your name, email and all your links), email us and we will do it as soon as we can.

Keeping it safe

We take reasonable care. No website is perfectly safe, so we cannot promise it.

Changes

We may change this page. The date at the top shows the last update.
